A 16-year-old teen is currently admitted to Kitui Hospital, after an abortion attempt over the weekend.
According to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the Class eight student gave birth to a 5-month-old lifeless male fetus at the Mumoni Health Center in Kitui County.
“According to the victim’s mother, her daughter had complained of severe abdominal pain, due to which she had to take the minor to the hospital.” DCI said
After questioning, the girl revealed that her school headmaster who was responsible for the pregnancy took her to a private clinic in Ishiara last Saturday, February 19, where she was given some pills and asked to swallow.
After this, there was severe pain in the stomach due to which he had to be admitted to the hospital.
Detectives have since started searching for the missing headmaster and the owner of the private clinic, which performed the abortion.
