Teacher arrested for defiling his disciple in Nyamira County.
Police in Nyamira County have arrested an elementary school teacher for allegedly sabotaging an eighth grade student.
According to the parents of the 16-year-old victim, the teacher met her on the road on Sunday on her way home from church service, where the accused invited her to his house under the guise of providing books so that she could use during the holiday.
However, when they reached his house, the teacher closed the door and defiled her several times.
After escaping from her assailant through a window while dodging and bleeding, she ran home and reported the matter to her parents, who took her to Keroka Hospital for immediate treatment.
The hospital report revealed that his private parts were injured during the incident, but the doctor expressed hope of recovery.
“Tender muscles will return to normal, although she will need professional guidance and counseling to protect the girl from the stigma of trauma and malaise,” advised the doctor.
From there the parents reported the matter to the Keroka Police Station, whose officers launched a search operation, leading to the arrest of the suspect in Amabuko village, Nyankoba location.
Police have identified the suspected teacher as 41-year-old George Omok Omworo of Nyamira County.
“The suspect is in our custody and we will appear in court tomorrow after completing our security report,” Keroka Police OCS confirmed.
Nyamira County Education Director Boniface called for a speedy investigation to establish the truth of the matter and provide justice to the abused child.
Mr Boniface appealed to parents to protect their children from evil during the long April holiday.
