Stacey Jeptum, a 15-year-old girl from Cheparwai village north of Nandi, surprised many by using Bodaboda, traveling more than 50 kilometers to Eldoret Town to get admission in Moi Girls High School.
She left home for the Moi Girls at 5 a.m., claiming it was her favorite high school instead of the Kaplong Girls, which she was set to join Form One next week.
Jeptum, who sat for the 2021 KCPE exam with 380 marks, arrived at Moi Girls High School at 8.00 am and was removed only by security guards.
“I requested to enter the school compound but the gate security did not allow me. They told me it was a national holiday and there could be no official transaction at school. I also wanted to write a letter to the school principal to consider my application. Moi Girls has been my dream school, and I chose it during my KCPE registration, ”she said.
Jeptum, who wants to become a medicine doctor, did her KCPE at Teresia Elementary School and did well in her hopes of joining her favorite school since childhood.
She is appealing to anyone who can help her join Moi Girls High School
