Following the conduction of general elections in the country for August 9th 2022, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission had invited applicant for the interviews in the positions of presiding officers, deputy presiding officers and polling clerk jobs.
All the successful candidates were then shortlisted for training in preparation for this years general elections ,an exercise that ended successfully giving Kenyans an opportunity to elect their leaders.
Highlighted below is a breakdown of payment that has been effected for IEBC contracted officers who conducted August polls.
The Presiding officials in charge of voting stations payment of Ksh. 2,000 every day for a period of 13 days.
The Deputy presiding officers payment of Ksh. 1,800 each day for 13 days to help the presiding officer in operating the polling site.
The Polling/counting clerks in charge of the actual voting process payment of Ksh.1,000 for a period of nine days.
The Support Election Trainers payment of Ksh.2,000 each day for 15 days for guidance of presiding officers and their deputies through the basics of the electoral process.
The Voter educators, who are those entrusted with providing civic education to ward voters, payment of Ksh.1,500 every day for 30 days.
Another payment of One thousand five hundred shillings to logistics officers for being on job for 30 days prior to the election.
