A Migori-based magistrate is currently in custody, after desecrating a 17-year-old minor last night.
According to a police report from the DCI, James Ongondo, 51, a senior principal magistrate at the Kehancha law courts in Migori County, was caught defiling a teenager last night in a hotel room in Bomet.
“Around 8 pm, the magistrate turned the suspect into book room 102 at Shari’s Bar and Restaurant after he had a drink at the bar. Around 11 pm, he was joined by Kishor and together they left the bar for the room. ” reads part of the DCI report.
The detectives of Sotik police station came to know about the incident and reached the hotel. They rescued the minor, apprehended the suspect and also recovered important exhibits including stained sheets.
Forensic analysis of the exhibits will be carried out at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory for DNA testing and other necessary tests.
“Both the suspect and the victim were taken to the hospital for necessary medical examination as the victim was later recorded as a child in need of care and protection.” DCI said
The magistrate is presently in custody and action is being taken on the charge of defamation.
